What is the HSBC Sustainable Business Accelerator?

The HSBC Sustainable Business Accelerator is structured in 6 modules, which will be delivered between June and December, to help you build an ESG strategy. The timeline of the programme is as follows:

Whether you are Senior Executives, Managers or individuals who are responsible for leading a company's sustainability agenda, this program will help you build your basic ESG strategy without any experience in sustainability / ESG reporting required. You will be able to network with representatives from other businesses in the region with similar aims and goals.

HSBC and Diginex will support you along the way with case studies, lectures, guidance materials, digital reporting solution, practical milestones, inspiring ideas from new economy solutions as well networking with others on the same journey.

MODULE 1: The importance of an ESG Strategy for a company

The first session aims to provide a broad overview and introduction to ESG, key issues and trends, an understanding of the business case for an ESG strategy and explore the landscape of MENAT ESG regulations and standards.

MODULE 2: Identifying material ESG topics in a business

How to define materiality in and guidance on conducting a materiality assessment from stakeholder interviews to setting up prioritisation frameworks.

MODULE 3: Identify key focus areas when building an ESG strategy

The aim of the session was to understand the Environmental, Social, or Governance (ESG) reporting framework landscape in the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey (MENAT) region and globally.

MODULE 4: How to collect and monitor ESG data

Module 4 of the HSBC Sustainable Business Accelerator explored “collecting data and governing ESG.” The session focused on key internal Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) governance and reporting processes that constitute the foundation of a company’s ESG strategy.

Module 5 of the HSBC Sustainable Business Accelerator delved into the critical aspects of “ESG Data Validation, Assurance, and Communication.” The session underscored the significance of companies reporting on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors, emphasizing the pivotal role of data validation, assurance, and communication in this process.
